Fiona Hyslop MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport
Ms Hyslop was born in Ayrshire in 1964 and with her family spent her early years in England before returning to Ayrshire. She graduated from Glasgow University with
an MA (Hons) in Economic History and Sociology.
She completed a post graduate Diploma in Industrial Administration at the Scottish College of Textiles, before moving to Edinburgh to join the financial services company Standard Life where she held various positions in sales and marketing, latterly as Brand Development Manager.
Elected in the first session of the Scottish Parliament in 1999 she has been returned as the Constituency MSP for Linlithgow since 2011. When the SNP formed a minority administration in 2007 Ms Hyslop was appointed as Cabinet Secretary for Education
& Lifelong Learning before serving in several ministerial roles, latterly Minister for Transport.
She was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Transport in February 2024.
Jo Caulfield, Comedian and Host
Jo Caulfield is a comedian, host, and comedy writer. She has worked on some
of the biggest shows, and with some of the biggest names, in British comedy.
Described by The Observer as “one of the finest female comics at work” and by
The Scotsman as “quite simply, a damn funny woman” Jo can regularly be seen headlining the UK’s biggest and best comedy clubs.
Jo has been the regular warm-up performer for Have I Got News for You for many years, and has appeared as a guest on the show, as well as on Mock the Week and Never Mind the Buzzcocks. She has also appeared on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.
On Radio 4, Jo has had own acclaimed shows, It’s That Jo Caulfield Again,
Jo Caulfield’s Speakeasy and Jo Caulfield Won’t Shut Up, as well as regularly appearing on shows including The News Quiz, Just A Minute, The Now Show,
and The Unbelievable Truth.
Behind the scenes Jo is a respected writer, having served as a writer / programme consultant on all five series of the BAFTA Award winning So Graham Norton, who said of Jo, ‘I never knew I could like a woman so much’. She was also head writer on Ruby Wax’s Waiting Game, and Zoe Ball’s Strictly Dance Fever. Jo has also written for Joan Rivers, Ant & Dec, and Anne Robinson. Stuart has written for ‘Mock the Week’ (BBC1), Newsquiz (BBC Radio 4), The Now Show (BBC Radio 4) and ‘The Loser World Cup’ (BBC Radio Wales).
